A successful three days of learning, innovation and collaboration
Once again UMV Coating Systems and Åbo Akademi brought together experts from across the world for the non-profit course/seminar Barrier Coating for Paper and Board: Practical and Fundamental Aspects.
From 25–27 August, 55 experts from several countries gathered in Säffle for three days focused on barrier coating technology and the development of more sustainable fibre-based packaging.
The course combined expert presentations, practical pilot trials and knowledge exchange between industry and academia. With leading experts from across the industry sharing their knowledge and experience, participants gained both theoretical insights and hands-on experience. The programme also included visits Billerud Gruvön mill and Blue Ocean Closures.
Naturally, the course was also an opportunity to showcase Säffle and the surrounding region. Dinners at Royal Hotel and Duse Udde, combined with beautiful Swedish late-summer weather, provided the perfect setting for conversations and networking beyond the classroom.
Once again, the course highlighted the importance of bringing industry and academia together to share knowledge, build connections and explore new solutions for more sustainable packaging.
A big thank you to all participants, speakers and partners for making this year’s course a success.
