The development of state of the art coating and surface treatment technology has always been the focus of UMV Coating Systems. This is why one of the worlds most advanced pilot coating machines for research and development is situated in Säffle, Sweden.

Development of new coated paper grades typically requires extensive pilot machine testing, to optimize and develop the process, the machinery as well as the product design. The pilot coater is therefore designed to best duplicate commercial conditions, thus giving the best correspondence between pilot results and results achieved in mill operation.
